02 / SCAR & RECOVERY SUPPORT · BYRON BAY

A little support for skin in recovery.

Explore whether photobiomodulation could complement the care of a healing scar or recovery after a procedure.

Discuss your skin

Healing skin deserves an individual approach. The type of scar, its age, the original procedure and your existing care plan all matter when deciding whether light therapy is suitable.

  • Selected healing surgical scars
  • Recovery alongside a treating clinician’s plan
  • Comfort during the healing process

What the research tells us

A small sham-controlled study of 830 nm LED treatment after thyroid surgery found improvements in some scar assessments and pain. Other research has explored postoperative swelling and healing. Evidence is specific to the procedure and treatment used.

Keeping expectations clear

This is supportive care, not scar removal. Findings on new surgical scars do not automatically apply to mature scars, keloids or pitted acne scars. Your original procedure may still require downtime and aftercare.
